TVH is seeking an Automation Engineer in Olathe, KS to design, develop, commission, and support industrial automation and control systems for TVH equipment and integrated warehouse controls.

You will collaborate with North American projects and global engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software across PLC platforms, with a focus on safety, modularity, and continuous improvement.

Occasional travel to other distribution centers may be required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or 3 years of proven work experience in a related field.
• Experience programming PLC-based automation systems required.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards required.
• Experience with industrial networking and communications (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, etc.) required.
• Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems preferred.

SUMMARY

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and support of industrial automation and control systems for TVH equipment and integrated warehouse controls. This role supports North American projects and operations while collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions across multiple PLC platforms.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or 3 years of proven work experience in a related field.
• Experience programming PLC-based automation systems required.
• Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards required.
• Experience with industrial networking and communications (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, etc.) required.
• Siemens TIA Portal and WinCC experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems preferred.
• Motion control and servo systems experience preferred.
• Machine safety systems experience preferred.
• Experience commissioning full lines and individual machines preferred.
• Ability to make software changes following a predefined standard preferred.
• Excellent understanding of modular and scalable programming methods.
• Ability to understand pneumatic and electrical controls and machine design.
• Systematic problem-solving ability combined with strong time management.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Personable, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and upper management.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to travel occasionally to other DC locations.
