Job summary

3M is hiring a Controls & Maintenance Technician for the Nevada, MO site. You will diagnose, repair and maintain electrical, mechanical, and control systems, including PLCs, sensors and instrumentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, small capital projects, and off-shift support as needed. A High School diploma is required and candidates with engineering-related degrees are preferred. On-site work with opportunities to grow within 3M.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in private, public, government or military environments.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical or bachelor’s degree in related engineering field preferred.
• Desirable experience with industrial maintenance, automation/Electronics and safety procedures (Lock Out/Tag Out, NFPA 70E).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AC/DC motors and drive systems.
• TROUBLESHOOT and support control/instrumentation loops, PLCs, sensors and I/O devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance and support capital projects.
• Install and modify control wiring up to 480 V with NEC/OSHA compliance.
• Read and update drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Provide off-shift support for maintenance activities and outages.
• Maintain safety and reliability of thermal oxidizer and related systems.
