Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Industrial Controls and Instrumentation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and optimize industrial control systems and automation equipment at a client site.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and continuous improvement to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency. Strong PLC, instrumentation, and electrical skills are required, along with safety-conscious work practices.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in instrumentation or electrical technology.
• Minimum 5 years supporting industrial controls/instrumentation in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
• Experience reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and instrument drawings.
• Proficiency with calibration equipment, multimeters, loop calibrators, and diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, LOTO, Arc Flash, and safe work practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and optimize industrial control systems and instrumentation.
• Diagnostics on PLCs, HMIs, networks, and control panels.
• Install, test, and commission instrumentation devices (pressure, temperature, flow, etc.).
• Calibrate field instrumentation per specs and site requirements.
• Maintain electrical and electronic control systems for manufacturing operations.
• Support VFDs, soft starters, motor controls, and process control equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and narratives.
• Assist with upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in commissioning, startup, and validation of new equipment.
