Job summary

Amazon seeks a Hardware Development Engineer to own the EtherCAT-based controls architecture across its material handling systems in the Bellevue area. You will define topology, device selection, and safety integration while coordinating with Controls Software, WWDE, and suppliers.

Responsibilities include leading prototype and validation activities, maintaining test benches, and ensuring scalable, high-performance hardware across the OneMHS program.

• Experience in industrial network design and controls hardware integration for complex material handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Define EtherCAT architecture and topology for OneMHS.
• Select, qualify, and specify controls hardware including industrial PCs, I/O, and safety devices.
• Establish network design limits, diagnostics, and troubleshooting practices.
• Lead prototype testing, interoperability testing, and production-readiness validation of hardware and architectures.
• Develop architecture specifications, device integration requirements, and BOMs.
