Job summary

Process Equipment & Controls is seeking a mid-level Controls Engineer in Covington, GA to design, develop, and implement robust control systems for industrial applications. You will work on increasingly complex projects, program PLCs and HMIs, and lead small workstreams as needed.

Responsibilities include testing, commissioning, and providing technical support during installation. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate closely with customers to define project scopes and specifications.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in control system design and implementation.
Experience with PLC programming languages (ladder logic, structured text, etc.).
Knowledge of industrial automation protocols and standards (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Experience with HMI development and configuration.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
Familiarity with schematic software such as SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Design and develop control systems for industrial processes and equipment.
Program PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices to meet project requirements.
Lead the integration of control systems with mechanical and electrical components.
Test and commission control systems, ensuring functionality and reliability.
Provide technical support during system installation and startup.
Mentor junior engineers and share control design best practices.
