Job summary

Valin Corporation is actively seeking an Application Engineer to support customer and sales teams by applying industrial controls technologies. The role focuses on PLCs, VFDs, process heat and temperature control, and motion control, providing practical customer application support from requirements through startup and training.

The position emphasizes hands‑on problem solving, collaboration with Suppliers and Sales, and on‑site visits for startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience applying, configuring, programming, or troubleshooting industrial PLCs and their control systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, component specifications, and control system documentation.
• Understanding of industrial I/O, electrical controls, AC/DC power distribution, and common industrial communications/networking.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales in Customer‑facing technical discussions to understand machine, process, and application requirements and recommend controls solutions.
• Select, size, configure, and support PLCs, VFDs, heat controllers, and related automation components based on requirements.
• Provide application‑level support for PLC system architecture, I/O selection, and industrial communications.
• Assist Customers with PLC configuration, diagnostics, and startup using Supplier software tools.
• Support VFD applications, drive/motor selection, parameter setup, and integration with PLCs.
• Coordinate with Suppliers to resolve questions and elevate complex issues; stay current on technologies.
• Deliver product demonstrations and training to Customers and Valin team members; contribute expertise to sales/marketing.
