Job summary

Excel Fluid Group in Brook Park, OH, is seeking a full-time Control Panel Builder for first shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM). This shop-based role assembles, wires, tests, and documents UL industrial control panels and pump station automation equipment.

The ideal candidate reads schematics and panel layouts with limited supervision, adheres to safety and quality standards, and completes required documentation while supporting potential field start-up within training limits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is preferred.
• Prior hands-on experience building, wiring, or testing industrial control panels is required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and workmanship.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work a full-time shift with overtime as needed.
• Familiarity with UL panel shop standards, OSHA requirements, and NFPA 70E is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire industrial control panels from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials.
• Mount and wire components including terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, PLC hardware, HMIs, VFDs, and soft starters.
• Strip, label, crimp, terminate, and route conductors neatly according to shop standards and UL requirements.
• Perform point-to-point and continuity checks, basic functional testing, and troubleshooting with a multimeter.
• Review drawings for accuracy, identify missing information, and communicate issues to avoid delays.
• Maintain clean wire routing, proper bend radii, secure terminations, and accurate labeling; document results.
