Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety of industrial building construction projects in Toledo, OH. You will conduct site inspections, lead risk assessments, train employees, investigate incidents, and develop safety programs to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires OSHA knowledge including OSHA 30 and hands-on experience with fall protection, confined space, welding safety, and machine guarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety or related field.
• OSHA knowledge with 30-hour certification required.
• Experience applying OSHA 500/510 in construction programs.
• Experience leading safety training and audits on job sites.
• Strong communication and incident investigation skills.
• Proven ability to develop corrective action plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular job site inspections for hazards and unsafe practices.
• Perform hazard assessments and safety audits to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, document findings.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
• Lead safety training sessions on fall protection and more.
• Deliver toolbox talks and new hire safety orientations.
• Maintain safety records and reports for audits and training.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate safety into planning.
