Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee projects across manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites, from funding to occupancy. The role requires coordinating teams, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with contracts, codes, and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in industrial/construction project management, strong communication, and willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience within the industrial or construction fields.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Exposure to coordinating facilities design and construction activities.
• Exposure to Construction Contracts including engineering drawings and specifications.
• Exposure to Building codes and construction specifications.
• Exposure to construction safety and Safety Contract Management process.
• Exposure to project budget management including change order processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time both internationally and domestic.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and organize project teams consisting of multi-discipline members from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Manage changing priorities and construction schedules.
• Employ rigorous analysis to solve schedule and construction problems.
• Identify future scheduling issues and develop proactive concepts.
• Demonstrate strong self-management by prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and driving projects forward with minimal supervision.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
