Job summary

General Motors is hiring a Construction Project Manager to provide project management services for manufacturing plants and other sites, overseeing site work from funding approval through occupancy. Qualifications

• 5+ years in project management in industrial or construction fields.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Exposure to coordinating facilities design and construction activities.
• Exposure to Construction Contracts including drawings and specifications.
• Exposure to Building codes and construction specifications.
• Exposure to construction safety and Safety Contract Management process.
• Exposure to project budget management including change orders.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and organize project teams from engineering, finance, purchasing, safety, contractors and stakeholders.
• Manage changing priorities and construction schedules with limited supervision.
• Solve complex schedule and construction problems with rigorous logic.
• Identify future issues in construction schedules and develop proactive concepts.
• Demonstrate strong self-management, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
