Job summary

dfwHR is seeking an experienced Industrial Construction Drafter in Itasca, TX. You will create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models for industrial construction, using AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and Inventor, based on plans, sketches, and field data.

You will work with fabrication and construction teams, verify dimensions, and maintain revisions and as-built docs, with visits to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of drafting experience in industrial construction, fabrication, or related environments.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience creating and modifying 3D models using AutoCAD 3D and/or Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to translate sketches, measurements, and specs into accurate CAD drawings.
• Ability to work independently on routine drafting tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for projects.
• Use AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and Autodesk Inventor to develop drawings from plans, field measurements, and specs.
• Convert hand sketches into detailed CAD drawings for fabrication and construction.
• Develop fabrication and installation drawings for structural steel, supports, foundations, and equipment.
• Update drawings to reflect updated dimensions, configurations, and field conditions.
• Obtain field measurements during occasional project site visits.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy and practicality before release.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, fabrication, and field teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain revisions, as-built docs, and organized project files.
• Support multiple drafting tasks while meeting project deadlines.
• Learn and apply 3D scanning and reality-capture tech as needed.
