Job summary

Confidential in Kemp, Texas is seeking an experienced Autodesk Inventor Designer to turn project concepts and field requirements into fabrication-ready designs. This hands-on role moves designs from screen to shop floor, collaborating with leadership, customers and fabrication teams to deliver practical steel solutions.

You will create 3D models and drawings for fabrication, translate field data into manufacturable designs, and ensure accuracy and constructability while maintaining organized

Qualifications

• Professional experience using Autodesk Inventor for mechanical, structural or fabrication design.
• Experience producing detailed drawings for manufacturing or fabrication.
• Understanding of welded assemblies and fabrication processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs and field measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active projects.
• Willingness to collaborate directly with shop personnel.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Produce accurate shop drawings, part drawings and bills of materials.
• Design structural and mechanical steel components for custom fabrication projects.
• Translate field measurements, sketches and customer requirements into manufacturable designs.
• Review drawings for accuracy, fit, constructability and compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate with fabrication personnel to resolve design questions and improve production efficiency.
• Revise designs based on field conditions, customer feedback and shop-floor input.
• Help maintain organized drawing files, revisions and project documentation.

Our client, an established custom steel fabrication company in Kemp, Texas, is seeking an experienced Autodesk Inventor Designer to turn project concepts and field requirements into accurate, fabrication-ready designs.

This is a hands-on design position where your work will move directly from the screen to the shop floor. You’ll collaborate closely with project leadership, customers and fabrication teams to develop practical structural and mechanical steel solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor
• Produce accurate shop drawings, part drawings and bills of materials
• Design structural and mechanical steel components for custom fabrication projects
• Translate field measurements, sketches and customer requirements into manufacturable designs
