Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies in Houston, TX, seeks a field service technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes and related rotating equipment.

You will deliver detailed reports, build customer relationships, and stay current with new technologies through ongoing training. This on-site role offers competitive hourly pay and growth opportunities with a well-established company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Multi-craft and/or technician experience desirable.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• A self-starter and highly motivated person.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organized work habits allowing unsupervised work.
• A commitment to the concept of “doing it right the first time".
• Technically knowledgeable, conscientious, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License, must be able to complete a drug test and background check.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend for long periods of time repeatedly.
• Must be coachable.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Provide comprehensive failure analysis and develop actionable recommendations to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to identify opportunities for service growth and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and sell recommended repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance solutions to customers, ensuring long-term equipment health and cost savings.
• Complete accurate service reports detailing work performed, parts used, and any additional recommendations, maintaining compliance with company standards.
• Keep service vehicle stocked with proper tools, parts, and equipment to enable efficient, factory-approved service methods.
