Job summary

Gulf Coast Industrial is seeking a Multi-craft Blast/Paint/Scaffold Builder to safely prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and perform scaffold erection, alteration, and dismantling. The role also involves applying, removing, and repairing insulation on ducts, tanks, and buildings to control noise and temperature.

You will work with project managers and customers, follow OSHA guidelines, and operate blasting/painting equipment and insulation tools.

Qualifications

• Must be highly productive and experienced in erecting, modifying, and dismantling scaffolds
• Must follow directions and adhere to safe work practices
• Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting and outdoor work
• Experience in insulation installation, repair, and removal is desirable
• Knowledge of scaffold-related tools and basic blueprint reading is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares surfaces and applies coatings to structures, tanks, piping, and surfaces per specifications
• Assembles, maintains, repairs, and cleans blasting and painting equipment
• Constructs protective enclosures to prevent overspray
• Assists in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies
• Assembles, alters and dismantles scaffolds per OSHA guidelines and manufacturer recommendations
• Cooperates with Project Manager and customers to carry out work
• Directs Helpers/Laborers in proper work performance and safety procedures
• Perform work safely at all times and correct unsafe conditions
• Work at heights and apply insulation materials as needed
• Measure, cut, and fit insulation material to surfaces per blueprint specs
