Job summary

Petrosmith is seeking an experienced industrial Painter and Coater to apply protective finishes to steel tanks and vessels. You will help ensure our products meet quality standards and endure harsh environments, while maintaining safety protocols and documentation.

Join a team focused on craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and collaboration with welders, fabricators, and quality teams in a full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial painting/coating experience preferred.
• Familiarity with airless spray systems and coating standards (SSPC).
• Ability to read work orders and coating specs.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.
• Forklift/manlift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and masking.
• Apply primers and industrial coatings using spray, brush, or roller.
• Inspect finishes for thickness, uniformity, and defects.
• Mix paint and coatings per job specifications.
• Maintain painting equipment and spray booths.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE and confined space procedures.
• Document work performed and materials used.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and quality teams.
