Job summary

LACOSTA Facility Support Services in Battle Creek, MI is seeking an Industrial Cleaner / Sanitation Associate to maintain a clean and safe production environment by sanitizing equipment and facilities in accordance with GMPs and food safety standards. Starting pay is $18.25 per hour with a schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Candidates must pass background checks and drug screening and be reliable and detail-oriented to support daily operations.

• Follow GMPs, SSOPs, safety regulations.
• Punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment according to daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules.
• Disassemble and reassemble food processing equipment for thorough cleaning.
• Use industrial cleaning chemicals and sanitizers safely and effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, ceilings, and other surfaces in production and packaging areas.
• Handle and dispose of waste materials and recyclables properly.
• Follow all GMPs, SSOPs, safety protocols and sanitation standards.
• Maintain records of sanitation activities including checklists and logs.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.

A Day in the Role

• Clean and sanitize production equipment (mixers, conveyors, molds, packaging machines, etc.) according to daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules.
• Disassemble and reassemble food processing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and proper functioning.
• Use industrial cleaning chemicals and sanitizers safely and effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, ceilings, and other surfaces in production and packaging areas.
• Handle and dispose of waste materials and recyclables properly.
• Safe handling and proper disposal of sanitation chemicals.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including checklists and cleaning logs.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or sanitation issues to supervisors promptly.
• Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to support a safe and efficient workflow.
• Wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow all safety protocols.
