Job summary

SPEC Consulting, LLC is seeking a civil/structural engineering intern for our Albany, NY office to help develop technical deliverables for industrial structures, including towers, pipe supports, tanks, vessels, and their foundations. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support design concepts, criteria, code interpretations, and permitting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of office productivity software.
• Knowledge of structural engineering software (Enercalc, SAP2000, STAAD Pro).
• Knowledge of civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCad, ComCheck).
• Ability to pass a background check and random DOT drug & alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of technical deliverables for industrial structures (towers, pipe supports, tanks, vessel supports) and their foundations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in site grading and containment design for tanks and equipment, plus permit deliverable coordination at local, state, and federal levels.
