Taurus Industrial Group in Port Lavaca, Texas is seeking a Civil Structural Designer to join our design team. You will work with engineers and other drafters to produce civil designs for facilities in the energy and chemical processing sectors.

Qualifications

• Drafting/design coursework required.
• Experience developing drawings with AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
• Minimum three years civil design experience.
• Advanced 3-D modeling and Navisworks.
• Knowledge of 3D scanning and equipment.
• Capable of performing routine field work.
• Team player with cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
• Take ownership of discipline design and be proactive in problem solving.
• Safety focused with attention to detail.
• Experience in petroleum/chemical processing plant environments.
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Designer for civil discipline with ability to work independently.
• Provide technical support, clarification and interpretation of task, code and standards requirements for all civil design and drafting activities.
• Prepare project scope documents and installation standards.
• Providing estimates for engineering work.
