Job summary

MWH is seeking an experienced Carpenter to support wastewater treatment plant construction projects in Austin, Texas. You will lay out work, select materials, read blueprints, and install wood, drywall, and related components on site.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and prior carpentry experience in commercial/industrial settings. You will follow safety procedures and contribute to on-time project delivery through precise workmanship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience as carpenter in commercial/industrial setting.
• Valid drivers license required.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the layout of the project.
• Estimate height, width, length and other proportions.
• Select materials and work from blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Work with materials such as wood, drywall, fiberglass, or concrete.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
• Operate chisels, planes, saws, drills and sanders to erect structures.
• Install cabinets, molding, and partitions.
• Build stairs, forms, and scaffoldings.
• Remodel businesses and construct concrete forms for tunnels or sewers.
