Job summary

MWH Constructors is seeking an experienced Carpenter to support a wastewater treatment plant construction project in Austin, Texas. The role involves on-site carpentry work, layout, material selection, and building structures from blueprints under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in rough and finished carpentry, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to safety and quality on critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience as a carpenter in commercial/industrial or facilities settings.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Commitment to meeting production targets with safety priority.
• Ability to communicate clearly about tasks and directions.
• Ability to perform duties safely and to company standards.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
• Medical examination statement may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project layout and estimate dimensions.
• Select materials and work from blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Work with wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.
• Use chisels, planes, saws, drills and sanders for building/repairing.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.
• Build stairs, cabinets, molding and other structures.
• Assemble and erect structures, scaffold, and assist with forms.
• Ensure work meets code and specifications.
