Job summary

Amentum is seeking a trained paint technician for contract unit maintenance at Red River Army Depot. The role involves applying primers and paints, surface preparation, masking, and light refurbishment in a safety-conscious environment.

Experience with blasting and surface prep, color vision, and the ability to work various shifts is required. The position is on-site at Red River Army Depot with strict credentialing and background check processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years' recent experience in maintenance, water/sand/bead blasting, overhaul and painting/depainting of contract unit equipment.
• Must have normal color vision.
• PFT and Respirator Fit test may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship required for this location.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and government background check.
• Must read, speak and write English.
• Must be able to obtain CAC if required.
• Must be available to work any shift, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coats surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices.
• Removes old paint using liquid paint remover and scraper or plastic/sand media blasting techniques.
• Smooths surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool; roughens aluminum surfaces to ensure paint adherence.
• Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted; paints insignia, letters or numerals using stencils.
• Perform other position related duties as assigned or requested.
