Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Dallas, TX seeks an ETS Systems Administrator to build, configure, and maintain virtual machines, Windows servers, and industrial computing environments that support control system deployments.

You will work closely with project engineers and network specialists to deliver secure, reliable system platforms. You will be configuring operating systems, managing virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix), applying patches, and documenting configurations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems administration or IT support in an industrial or project-based environment.
• Proficiency with Windows Server and client OS platforms.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational and documentation habits.
• Service-oriented attitude eager to learn and support a multi-disciplinary team.
• Associates or Bachelors in IT, CS, or related field.
• Certs like CompTIA Server+, MCSA, VMware VCP are a plus.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python, Bash is beneficial.
• Experience with server, endpoint, and storage configurations (Dell, SuperMicro, CDW).
• Familiarity with container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• OT/control system infrastructure and SCADA familiarity.
• Industrial cybersecurity frameworks and secure configuration practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines and Windows servers for control deployments.
• Set up and manage virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) for projects.
• Install and configure backup solutions, antivirus, and endpoint protection tools.
• Manage Active Directory configurations including users, groups, GPOs, and security settings.
• Create standardized VM templates and documentation for repeatable deployments.
• Apply OS patches and updates per security requirements.
• Collaborate with network specialists to integrate systems into control networks.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues during FAT, SAT, and commissioning support.
• Prepare and maintain configuration guides, IP assignments, and support records.
• Support cybersecurity hardening and baseline image control.
• Travel should not exceed 30%.
