Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Buyer I in Nashville, TN. You will manage project-based purchasing by translating BOM requirements into accurate purchase orders for mechanical and electrical components, maintaining ERP data, and expediting materials to support milestones.

Collaborate with engineering and build teams to resolve shortages, support cost-effective sourcing, and aid in supplier evaluations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
Procurement/sourcing experience in manufacturing/automation preferred
Ability to interpret mechanical/controls drawings, BOMs, and revision documentation
Working knowledge of Excel including lookups and pivot tables
Familiarity with standard components (pneumatics, sensors, fasteners, electrical hardware) preferred

Responsibilities

Translate BOM requirements into accurate purchase orders for mechanical and electrical components.
Validate and maintain pricing, lead times, delivery commitments in ERP.
Monitor open orders and expedite materials to meet timelines.
Collaborate with Machine Build, Controls, and cross-functional teams to resolve shortages.
Assist in obtaining competitive quotations for routine purchases.
Monitor procurement KPIs and supplier performance.
Administer returns, replacements, and RMA processes; resolve invoice discrepancies.
