Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises is seeking an Electrical/Hardware Engineer to design and develop industrial automation hardware, schematics, and wiring layouts for complex control systems. You will collaborate with software, controls, manufacturing, and panel shop teams to ensure successful project execution and smooth production handoff.

The role requires 2+ years in industrial control design, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, and knowledge of UL508A standards.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience designing industrial control panels and automation hardware.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of UL508A panel design requirements and industry electrical standards.
  • Experience with Ethernet/IP and fieldbus protocols.
  • Strong communication and project-management skills.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop industrial automation hardware schematics meeting customer requirements.
  • Create hardware layouts, wiring drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Collaborate with software, controls, manufacturing, and panel shop teams for project execution and handoff.
  • Develop hardware documentation and quality verification processes before production release.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development, manufacturing, and startup.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards including UL508A.
  • Support implementation of industrial networking and communication systems.
  • Research and incorporate emerging automation technologies and best practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on hardware design processes and tools.
  • Support startup and commissioning activities at customer sites.
