Job summary
Kinder Morgan is seeking an experienced Specialist-Engineer to support automation, PLCs, HMIs, and control systems at the Kinderhawk facility in Shreveport, LA. The role involves installation, maintenance, and operation of gas gathering plant automation, with on-call nights and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, program maintenance, and supporting capital projects with coordination across Operations, Environmental, and Technical Services.
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial automation systems and capital projects.
- Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting (ladder logic, function blocks, structured text).
- Familiar with electrical safety standards and NEC knowledge.
- Ability to design/test automation standards and support projects.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot automation and compressor controls issues at the facility level.
- Maintain PLC programs and safety systems, including ESD and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot HMI node programs and support HMI hardware.
- Support capital projects from scoping to commissioning.
- Engage with Operations and Environmental teams on performance and compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to Operations Specialists.
