Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop, maintain, and support process network and control systems at the Apex Plant and other sites. You will troubleshoot instrumentation, support data engineering and reporting, and help drive improvements across manufacturing processes.

The role requires advanced PLC/SCADA skills, experience with PlantPAx/Wonderware, and collaboration with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering or related field (Electrical, Process Control, Mechatronic).
• 5+ years industrial experience in process controls/automation system design, operation and maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems at industrial sites.

Responsibilities

• Support Process Control and Automation Systems at plant sites.
• Troubleshoot and fix instrumentation and control system issues to keep production running.
• Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and related automation hardware.
• Manage engineering data acquisition, transformation, storage, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to solve problems.
