Commonwealth Rolled Products is seeking an Electrical & Automation Specialist to join its Maintenance & Engineering team at the Lewisport, KY facility. The role focuses on executing E&A projects, managing capital and maintenance efforts, and improving automation and controls for ABS.

The ideal candidate holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years in industry, and hands-on Siemens S7/TIA Portal experience, drives, and PLC programming.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial experience.
• Knowledge of Siemens S7 & TIA Portal PLC programming (Ladder, Function Block, Structured Text).
• Experience with drive control and industrial automation troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in maintaining a zero-incident safety culture.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to E&A equipment and minor adaptations.
• Develop contract specifications for E&A projects emphasizing safety and uptime.
• Provide updates to direct management and collaborate with peers.
• Evaluate automated equipment and diagnose root causes of issues.
• Define E&A norms for the plant (PLC, HMI, hardware).
• Support OT process networks and IT interfaces.
• Maintain and back up automation software and engineering drawings.
