Job summary

Commonwealth Rolled Products is seeking an Electrical & Automation Specialist to join the Maintenance & Engineering team at our Lewisport, KY facility. The role focuses on executing E&A projects, maintaining automation systems, and driving reliability improvements across the plant.

The candidate will work with PLCs, HMIs, and drive systems, ensuring safety and uptime while collaborating with operations, IT, and vendors.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of industrial experience.
• Experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal PLC programming.
• Experience with drive control and automation troubleshooting.
• Willingness to support 24/7 production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
• Develop contract specifications for Electrical & Automation projects.
• Define E&A norms for the plant (PLC, HMI, hardware).
• Support OT process networks and plant IT interfaces.
• Maintain and develop safety systems for industrial machinery.
• Analyze downtime and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Prepare electrical drawings and related documentation.
