Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a skilled Electrical/Controls Technician to implement and maintain power circuits, control and automation systems at pipelines, pump stations, and facilities. You will conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, read electrical drawings, and ensure safety standards.

The role requires an associate degree in a technical field, NEC knowledge, and a valid driver’s license with travel readiness.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or related discipline.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
• Experience with electrical test instruments (voltmeters, ammeters, etc.).
• Knowledge of National Electric Codes (NEC).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and control systems integrity including design, installation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
• Inspect control systems and perform I&M checks.
• Maintain switchgear and power distribution.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and electronic/electronic components.
• Oversee third-party work and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Complete documentation and reporting of activities.
• Respond to after-hours callouts as needed.
