Job summary

Morgan Engineering seeks an Automation Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support advanced control systems for heavy industrial applications. Based in Alliance, OH, you will own the full lifecycle from specification through commissioning.

You will work with Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms, test software, interface with electrical engineers, and travel as needed. This role requires on-site presence and comfort with heights during installation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
3 years designing, commissioning, and maintaining heavy industrial drive and automation systems
Minimum 1 year PLC programming experience with Rockwell/Siemens ecosystems

Responsibilities

Define and implement control solutions for industrial system requirements
Design and test PLC-based software for overhead cranes, mills, and material handling
Select and evaluate components, sensors, and suppliers for each project
Program PLCs using Ladder Logic or Function Block Diagram
Assist with test plans, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Travel as needed and work at heights up to 300 ft
