Job summary

Citizens Energy Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Distribution Welder to repair, rebuild, layout and fabricate metal parts using arc or gas welding to maintain safe, continuous operation of distribution systems.

The role is unionized with a wage scale of 39.86/U12 per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and a full benefits package including health, pension, 401(k) and more.

Qualifications

• Must pass welding tests per ASME B31.1 requirements.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Confined space entry may be required.
• Willing to work overtime when needed.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc and gas welding, fit and install metal components.
• Cut metals with oxy-acetylene; use plasma/arc equipment.
• Read blueprints and specs; select weld rods/flux.
• Operate tools like saws, grinders and brakes.
• Rig scaffolding and crane operations as needed.
• Inspect and service piping and insulation components.
• Keep work areas and company vehicle clean.
• Provide general mechanical maintenance when not welding.
