Job summary

Marple Newtown School District is seeking a part-time faculty advisor for the Indoor Drumline to guide student leaders, coordinate events, and foster an inclusive environment for about 40 students during the 2026-2027 school year.

The role involves teaching battery percussion techniques, supervising rehearsals before/after school, and collaborating with the Drumline Director to align show design with performance goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age students and coordinating events.
• Strong managerial, organizational and communication skills.
• PA teaching certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the school administration and the Drumline club, guiding student leaders and members.
• Plan events with student leaders and create opportunities for inclusion.
• Supervise all club-related events and meetings.
• Instruct drumline techniques (battery percussion) and reinforce rhythm and ensemble precision.
• Collaborate with Drumline Director to align percussion with show design.
• Assist with performance and competition preparation and equipment handling.
• Ensure compliance with MNSD policies and safety expectations.
• Other duties as assigned by Administration.
