Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA seeks a Manager of Indirect Tax in Kennesaw, GA to lead the organization’s indirect tax compliance across multi-state jurisdictions. You will oversee sales/use, property tax, and related audits, guiding senior staff and partnering with leadership for strategic tax decisions.

The role requires a strong technical foundation in US indirect tax, CPA preferred, and 8+ years of experience in both large firms and in-house teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA license preferred.
• 8+ years of compliance experience in multistate sales/use tax, property tax, and excise tax.
• 3+ years managing tax staff.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with intermediate Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and tax software (Vertex).

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual multi-state and local sales/use tax returns and reconciliations.
• Handle other indirect tax filings including excise tax and business licenses.
• Manage property tax renditions and payments, budgets, and accruals.
• Oversee tax audits and respond to notices.
• Provide guidance on indirect tax issues and monitor tax rules and rates.
• Lead and develop tax staff and improve processes.
