Job summary

Continental Battery Systems is seeking a skilled Indirect Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement of indirect goods and services. You will source, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective purchasing and high quality.

In this role you will drive savings, optimize processes, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations to align procurement with business goals, supporting the company’s growth and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required.
• 5+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing with a focus on indirect categories.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills required.

About the Role

General Description (major areas of responsibility of this position): As an Indirect Purchasing Manager, you will oversee the procurement of indirect goods and services necessary for the company's operations, excluding direct production materials. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality and reliability. Your strategic approach to procurement will contribute to the organization’s efficiency, profitability, and overall success.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing: Develop procurement strategies for indirect goods and services; evaluate, select, and onboard top-tier suppliers.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build strong vendor partnerships, monitor performance KPIs, and drive continuous vendor improvement.
• Cost Optimization & Savings: Analyze spend patterns to identify savings, consolidate suppliers, and negotiate competitive pricing.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms, ensure legal compliance, and mitigate supply chain risk.
• Process Improvement: Streamline procurement workflows and utilize technology platforms to automate tasks and boost efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to align procurement strategies with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing with a focus on indirect categories.

Required Skills

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management track record with proven cost-saving results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with procurement software, spend analysis tools, and e-sourcing platforms preferred.
