Job summary

TDW is seeking a Manager, Indirect Procurement to lead enterprise-wide sourcing across MRO, CapEx, logistics, IT, and services. You will drive strategy, governance, and supplier performance with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations.

In this role you will sponsor RFx activities, negotiate strategic supplier agreements, and deliver measurable cost savings while advancing procurement capabilities throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years in indirect procurement or strategic sourcing leadership.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level indirect spend including MRO, CapEx, logistics, IT, services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the enterprise-wide indirect procurement strategy across MRO, CapEx, logistics, IT, and services.
  • Oversee RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) and negotiate strategic supplier agreements.
  • Establish SRM framework and executive relationships with key suppliers.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance to set contract standards and governance.
  • Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier performance improvements.
  • Lead procurement operations including sourcing, requisitions, PO processing, and supplier onboarding.

Manager, Indirect Procurement

The Manager, Indirect Procurement is responsible for developing and executing the enterprise-wide procurement strategy for indirect spend categories, including MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), capital expenditures (CapEx), logistics and freight, information technology, software, professional services, facilities, travel, marketing, and other non-production goods and services.

This leadership role provides strategic direction, governance, and oversight to optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk, enhance supplier performance, and align procurement activities with organizational objectives. As a trusted business partner, the Manager collaborates closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders across Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, Engineering, and other functional areas to drive value creation, influence business decisions, and continuously advance procurement capabilities across the organization.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership
  • Develop and lead the enterprise-wide indirect procurement strategy, aligning category roadmaps with business priorities and long-term organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for complex, high-value sourcing initiatives across all indirect spend categories.
  • Establish and govern category management strategies, including demand management, supplier consolidation, standardization, and innovation partnerships.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for MRO materials, plant services, and capital expenditures, ensuring supplier competitiveness, operational reliability, and alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Finance teams to support capital investment projects, including equipment purchases, facility expansions, infrastructure improvements, and major maintenance initiatives.
  • Sponsor and oversee RFx activities (RFI, RFP, RFQ) for critical goods and services.
  • Lead or approve negotiations for strategic supplier agreements, including pricing structures, service levels, risk allocation, and commercial terms.
  • Drive measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, working capital improvements, and overall value realization initiatives.
Supplier Relationship & Contract Management
  • Establish the strategic framework for supplier relationship management (SRM), supplier performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key strategic suppliers.
  • Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships for MRO, capital equipment, construction, engineering, and maintenance service providers to maximize value, performance, and service continuity.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance teams to establish contract standards, negotiation strategies, and approval processes.
  • Ensure effective governance of contract lifecycle management, renewals, performance obligations, and commercial compliance.
  • Resolve escalated supplier issues and lead corrective action, remediation, or supplier transition strategies when necessary.
Executive Stakeholder Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the organization on procurement and sourcing matters.
  • Translate business needs and strategic objectives into procurement solutions that optimize cost, quality, service, innovation, and risk.
  • Influence stakeholder decisions through data-driven recommendations, total cost of ownership analysis, and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering leadership to align procurement strategies with plant reliability, asset management, maintenance planning, and capital investment priorities.
  • Champion procurement best practices, governance standards, and policy compliance throughout the organization.
Procurement Operations & Organizational Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement professionals through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and capability development.
  • Establish scalable procurement operating models, policies, procedures, and approval frameworks.
  • Oversee procurement operations, including sourcing, requisitions, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and invoice resolution.
  • Ensure effective procurement support for operational requirements, including MRO inventory management, maintenance service sourcing, and capital project execution.
  • Ensure strong process discipline, documentation standards, internal controls, and audit readiness.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
Compliance, Risk & Sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, delegated authority requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Lead supplier risk management activities, including assessment of financial, operational, cybersecurity, regulatory, and geopolitical risks.
  • Promote ethical sourcing, sustainability initiatives, and supplier diversity programs aligned with company values and objectives.
Reporting, Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to spend visibility, savings delivery, supplier performance, compliance, and risk.
  • Monitor and analyze MRO and CapEx spend, identifying opportunities for standardization, inventory optimization, lifecycle cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and improved return on capital investments.
  • Present procurement performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Sponsor enhancements to procurement technologies and systems, including ERP, procure-to-pay (P2P), supplier management, and contract lifecycle management platforms.
  • Lead procurement transformation initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and digital enablement.
  • Support enterprise governance, policy development, and long-range procurement planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or procurement leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success developing, building, and scaling indirect procurement programs and capabilities, including MRO, facilities, plant services, and capital project procurement.
  • Significant experience managing enterprise-level indirect spend categories, including MRO, capital expenditures (CapEx), logistics/freight, IT, software, professional services, facilities, maintenance services, and other corporate services.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, process improvements, and supplier performance outcomes.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, including equipment procurement, contractor management, construction services, and large-scale operational investments.
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and category management.
  • Deep understanding of procurement governance, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance, reliability, inventory management, and asset lifecycle management principles.
  • Experience working with ERP, procure-to-pay (P2P), spend analytics, and contract management systems.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze spend, develop business cases, and communicate value creation opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, driving organizational change, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, CPM, or other relevant procurement or supply chain certification.
  • Experience leading procurement transformation, digital procurement, or source-to-pay optimization initiatives.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, industrial, logistics, or multi-site operational environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in spend analytics, supplier performance management, and procurement performance measurement.
