Job summary

Mid American Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Lending Associate to support indirect auto lending. The role involves evaluating applications, gathering documents, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards.

The candidate will communicate with auto dealers, expand relationships, and stay updated on policy changes while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Education - High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including preparatory positions.
• Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Outlook, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask.
• Organizational skills.
• Positive, professional demeanor and punctuality.

Responsibilities

Starting Salary: $21/hour

This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Make sound lending decisions based upon underwriting policies and documentation requirements
• Communicate effectively with indirect auto dealers throughout loan process
• Develop and expand relationships with current and potential indirect dealers
• Obtain information and documentation as needed in order to build solid auto loans
• Build lending process knowledge and keep up-to-date on all policy and procedure changes as it pertains to role
• Attend lending trainings as necessary or as assigned by leadership to keep up on industry trends
• Complete required annual credit union training regarding Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud, BSA, etc.
• Assist in the processing of Indirect dealer funding packages received in the mail and electronically
• Verify all information and documents for accuracy and prepare packet for funding
• Assist with funding loan documents in the system as needed

Skills and Qualifications

• Education - High School Diploma or GED required

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to lift 10 pounds
• Climate-controlled shared work area with standard levels of office noise and minimal fluctuation in temperature. Employees will be expected to sit, stand, stoop, and walk while performing the duties of this job.
• Interactions with members and coworkers include telephone and video calls, in addition to in-person interfacing.
