Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Category Specialist I or II - Indirect to develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies for assigned categories. The role focuses on optimizing costs, quality, and delivery while strengthening supplier relationships.

Compensation varies by experience and location, with roles available at two levels. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience in procurement or related supply chain fields, with a current driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, construction management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement or category management.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Category Strategy for assigned categories.
• Engage internal stakeholders to capture category requirements across engineering and operations.
• Assess opportunities including spend segmentation, category maturity, cost drivers, and market analysis.
• Support annual category reviews with updated projects, metrics, strategy, and risk mitigation.
• Monitor supplier performance and support business reviews and expedites as needed.
