Mortenson is seeking a Category Specialist I or II - Indirect to develop and manage sourcing strategies for assigned categories, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery improvements. The role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration and supplier performance management within a dynamic construction environment.

The position offers two levels (I and II) with compensation based on experience and location; a strong emphasis on leadership, ethics, and teamwork is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies for assigned categories and adapt to changing conditions.
• Engage internal stakeholders across engineering and operations to capture category requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance; conduct supplier reviews.
• Assist in pricing strategies and perform monthly/annual category financial reviews.
• Support cost reductions through negotiations and Total Cost of Ownership analyses.
• Collaborate across teams and lead by example to drive performance.
