Job summary

PNC is seeking an Underwriter I for the Retail Bank Operations - Indirect Auto team. The position is based in Phoenix, AZ or Pittsburgh, PA, with remote work options in select locations. You will underwrite consumer loans, interact with dealers, and ensure compliance while documenting all interactions.

The role requires strong credit decisioning, risk analysis and customer service skills, with occasional in-office attendance and some weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit decisioning and risk analysis within consumer lending.
• Ability to analyze credit, collateral strength and borrower financials.
• Familiarity with underwriting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to balance quality, speed and risk in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in lending, underwriting, collections or call-heavy roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and evaluate consumer loan applications per policies.
• Receive inbound calls from dealers and provide status updates.
• Conduct fraud reviews and risk mitigations as needed.
• Document customer/dealer interactions accurately while maintaining productivity.
