Job summary

The UW Counseling Center in Seattle is seeking a Mental Health Therapist and Indigenous Student Cultural Liaison to provide short-term counseling and outreach to enrolled students, with a focus on Native students, to promote retention and graduation.

The role requires cross-cultural competence, crisis intervention skills, and collaboration with faculty and staff. Telework is available 2x per week; work typically Mon-Fri with occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field OR Doctorate degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology or related field
• Two years of experience (can include internship) providing mental health counseling

Responsibilities

• Psychotherapy (40-55%): provide clinical counseling for individuals, groups, and couples; initial intake assessments and referrals
• Outreach and consultation (15-30%): psychoeducation and trust-building with Native students; consult UW faculty, staff, and students
• Documentation (20%): maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment and services
• Administrative (10%): participate in interdisciplinary meetings; engage in professional development and maintain licensure
