Job summary

CompHealth is seeking a psychiatry locum tenens physician for a hospital-based inpatient unit with a 7 on/7 off schedule. Daily workload ranges 16–20 patients in an acute psychiatric setting, with 75% adults and 25% children aged 5+.

The physician may supervise residents and sign off notes for one APP on shift, with opportunities for involvement in involuntary commitments and seclusion protocols. CompHealth handles housing, travel, and comprehensive malpractice coverage, and streamlines

Qualifications

• Inpatient psychiatry experience required.
• Ability to supervise residents and sign off notes for 1 APP.
• Experience with involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, and restraint protocols.
• Pharmacotherapy knowledge; group and family therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care in a hospital unit.
• Supervise residents and sign off notes for one APP on shift.
• Manage involuntary commitments and seclusion/restraint when required.
• Treat a mix of patients (adult and pediatric; 75%/25%), with pediatric patients 5+ years old.
• Utilize the on-site residency program and collaborate with staff.
• Coordinate credentialing and time entry via the online portal.
