The Independent Vaccine Contract Manager (iVCM) is responsible for collaborating with the Vaccines’ Sales Organization, National Account Director Team, Contract and Pricing Strategy Teams, Brand Management, and other key stakeholders within the VBU.
Responsibilities
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (including National Account Directors, HSSs, Sales Leadership, Marketing, USMA, Legal, Contracting) to support pricing and contracting discussions with Vaccine Key Accounts.
- Engage with customer targets (executive and administrative personnel within large independent and mid-level IDN accounts) on pricing and contracting strategies, in coordination with Sales Leadership, ensuring compliance.
- Work closely with Sales and Contracting Leadership to develop and execute strategic account plans, focusing on effective and compliant contracting discussions and contract pull-through.
- Manage all contracting activities in non-VAM aligned accounts and other commercial customers as required.
- Provide regional support and expertise for Pfizer Discounts on Demand program.
- Support the development of contracting strategies for the Vaccine portfolio by representing sales perspectives to HQ-based functions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience; 7+ years with MBA; 5+ years with PhD or equivalent.
- Prior experience in sales or account management preferred.
- At least 3 years of vaccine contracting experience, including IDN & PBG/Independent accounts.
- Proven ability to engage with executive/administrative personnel at large accounts.
- Ability to communicate complex pricing and value messages in a compliant manner.
- Strong financial/business acumen, strategic thinking, leadership without authority, and project management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex issues.
- Experience using data to prioritize business opportunities.
- Effective collaboration and leadership across organizational functions.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or related fields in customer-facing roles.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Experience with vaccines or buy-and-bill products.

- Salary range: $169,700 - $282,900 annually.
