Job summary

SA Recycling LLC in San Pedro, CA is seeking a full-time Truck Driver-Union to load and unload scrap metal, inspect metal grades for inventory, and perform DOT daily operations and safety checks. You will coordinate with the office and customers to determine commodities to load and you will work independently while transporting materials.

This role requires passing a medical physical and drug test, and a background check.

Qualifications

• Must pass medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check.
• Preferred — high school diploma or GED; foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively and perform basic math as required.
• Experience operating a wheel loader is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks hauling scrap metal.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection.
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load.
• Work independently when driving scrap metal.
• Maintain a safe yard environment with coworkers.
• Perform routine maintenance like fueling and cleaning.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly; attend to housekeeping.
