Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington’s Department of Geography invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct independent research under joint mentorship of Dr. Darren Ficklin and Dr. Margaret Zimmer.

The scholar will be based in Bloomington and collaborate with groups at IU and UW–Madison. We seek an early-career researcher who will propose and lead a two-year research project spanning hydrology, climate science, and environmental modeling, with strong emphasis on independent scholarship

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Geography or closely related field by start date.
• Strong research record and ability to conduct independent work.
• Experience with quantitative, computational, and/or observational methods.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research group.
• Strong scientific programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research project aligned with Ficklin and Zimmer's interests.
• Engage with the Ficklin Lab and postdoctoral researchers and students.
• Collaborate with UW–Madison researchers and IU groups.
• Translate findings into publications and presentations.
