Job summary

New York University’s Simons Center for Computational Geophysical Flows seeks full-time Postdoctoral Fellows to conduct deep research across multiscale geophysical flows and AI methods for ocean, atmosphere and ice dynamics. You will be mentored by core faculty and expected to lead independent projects, publish results, and collaborate with the Earth and Planetary Sciences community.

Positions are available immediately for one year with renewal possible to two years, with a base salary aligned

Qualifications

• PhD in machine learning, computer science, engineering, physical science, applied mathematics, atmosphere/ocean science, or related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep and impactful research in multiscale geophysical flows and AI applications.
• Lead independent research projects under faculty mentorship.
• Publish results and contribute to the center and the broader Earth and Planetary Sciences community.
