BMS Family Health and Wellness Centers in Brooklyn, NY seeks an experienced Independent Medical Coding Consultant to strengthen clinical coding and revenue cycle operations on-site.

You’ll validate claims, optimize AI-assisted coding with XpertDox, train the billing team, and align workflows in Athena.

This role blends coding expertise with process improvement to reduce denials and speed up claim processing. Strong collaboration and attention to detail are essential.

Competenze

• Certification in Medical Coding and Billing is required.
• Experience with coding validation, auditing, and claim correction.
• Experience in medical billing and revenue cycle environments.
• Familiarity with Athena or similar EHR/RCM platforms.
• Interest or experience in AI-assisted coding.

Mansioni

• Validate corrected claims and coding recommendations from XpertDox.
• Audit AI-generated coding outputs and provide feedback.
• Educate billing staff on ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Develop SOPs, training materials, and reference guides.
• Analyze Athena workflows and identify automation opportunities.
• Reduce claim holds and denials through process improvements.
