KenCrest is seeking a Community Support Worker to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs to live independently in their homes and communities. You will help with daily living activities, healthcare decisions, and participation in community activities.

Success hinges on building rapport with empathy, maintaining professional boundaries, and working independently while collaborating with families, supervisors, and program managers to help participants achieve

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism.
• 1-2 years experience with diverse behavioral or mental health diagnoses.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in home/community settings.
• Adaptable to changing environments; comfortable with iPad tech.

Responsabilidades

• Helping with health and wellbeing by supporting healthy choices such as eating well, exercise, hygiene, attending appointments, and following doctor recommendations.
• Support with budgeting, meal preparation, household maintenance and daily living activities.
• Providing emotional and mental support for individuals with mental/behavioral health needs.
• Implementing actions from Individual Support Plans and Behavioral Support Plans to aid goal attainment.
• Encourage participation in the local community and develop a support network.
• Drive clients to activities, appointments, and shopping.
• Teach skills to develop, increase and maintain independence.
