KenCrest in Bell, CA is seeking a Community Support Worker to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral health needs to live independently in their homes and communities.

You will assist with daily living, attend appointments, promote self-advocacy, and document progress. The role requires at least a high school diploma, 2 years in relevant support, strong communication, empathy and ability to work autonomously in home-based settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism.
• 1–2 years experience with individuals with diverse behavioral or mental health diagnoses.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in home/community settings.
• Comfort using technology such as an iPad.

Responsabilités

• Support with health and wellbeing, including healthy eating and exercise.
• Assist with budgeting, meal preparation, and daily living activities.
• Provide emotional and mental support for mental/behavioral health.
• Carry out plans from Individual Support Plans and Behavioral Support Plans.
• Encourage involvement in local community and build a network of support.
• Drive clients to community activities, appointments, and shopping.
• Teach skills to increase independence.
• Complete required documentation and progress notes.
• Respond to emergencies by following protocol and contacting supervisors.
