Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist an individual in Newton, NJ, in daily living tasks, community participation, and safety.

The role focuses on person-centered care, skills-building, and meaningful engagement in the person’s home and local community.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record and a reliable personal vehicle; ability to transport the Individual.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Comfortable using a Hoyer lift and providing toileting assistance in daily care.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Supporting housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, tidying, light cleaning).
• Preparing meals according to dietary needs.
• Teaching and reinforcing independent living skills.
• Following individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Providing transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
• Promoting safety and well-being at all times.
