Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist a client in Newton, NJ. This one-on-one, community-based role focuses on person-centered care, safety, and independence.

The DSP will help with ADLs, mobility, and participation in activities, requiring a compassionate, patient, and professional attitude. 25 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 10:00am–3:00pm, with part-time status.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Support housekeeping tasks (laundry, dishes, light cleaning).
• Prepare meals per dietary needs.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills.
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior support strategies.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an individual living in Newton, Sussex County, NJ.

This is a community-based position. The DSP will provide support in the individual’s home and assist with safe, structured participation in community activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in a one-on-one setting.

Seeking a DSP who can assist her with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide personal care support. She uses a wheelchair and has a Hoyer lift in her home. A DSP who is comfortable using a Hoyer lift and providing toileting assistance is essential, along with someone who is dependable, patient, and respectful of her dignity and independence.

SCHEDULE

• Monday – Friday
• 10:00am -3:00pm
• 25 hours a week

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required)
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
• Authorized to work legally in the United States
